TRANSFER CASE/FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE
Press the desired icon on the Driver Mode Control on the center console to shift the
transfer case. The four-wheel-drive status is displayed on the Driver Information Center.
AUTO Automatic Four-Wheel Drive –
Use when traction conditions
vary. The front axle is engaged
and power is sent to the front and
rear wheels automatically based
on driving conditions.
Two-Wheel Drive High – Use for
most streets and highways. The
front axle is not engaged.
Four-Wheel Drive High – Use
when extra traction is needed,
such as when driving on snowy or icy roads, or when off-roading. Not intended for
dry pavement.
Four-Wheel Drive Low – Use when driving off-road in deep sand, mud or snow, or
on steep hills. Not intended for dry pavement. Vehicle speed should be kept below
45 mph. Traction Control and StabiliTrak are turned off.
N
Neutral – Use when towing the vehicle. Refer to the Owner's Manual for the shift
procedure.
SHIFTING THE TRANSFER CASE
To shift into or out of 4-wheel drive,
press an icon (2 HI, AUTO, 4 HI, 4 LO)
on the Driver Mode Control. The
related 4x4 graphic will flash on the
Driver Information Center while the
shift is in progress and stops flash-
ing when the shift is complete.
Shift between 2 HI, 4 HI and AUTO at
normal driving speeds.
Shift into or out of 4 LO with the
vehicle moving less than 3 mph and the transmission in Neutral.
If a shift cannot be completed, the transfer case returns to the last chosen setting.
The current 4-wheel-drive status is displayed on the Driver Information Center.
