@ Manual tuning
Use tuning buttons to tune the radio to the desired broadcast
frequency. The frequency changes up or down, each time
the "+" or "—" button is pressed, respectively. The incre-
ment of each step is determined by the band selected.
1. Press the operation switch to turn on the unit.
2. Press "TUNER/BAND"
button of the function select
buttons.
3. Press the "TUNER/BAND"
button again to select the
desired radio band (FM1, FM2, LW or MW).
The corresponding band indicator will appear.
4. Tune in the radio station using the tuning buttons.
Press the "+" or "—" button for each step required until
the desired frequency appears on the display.
When
tuning the station,
the frequency
display will
change as follows:
FM:
50kHz step
LW:
9kHz step
MW:
9kHz step
For FM reception, press the FM mode/beat proof button
to select the stereo mode. The stereo ("ST") indicator
will appear on the display when the FM stereo broadcast
is being received.
If FM stereo reception is poor (excessive noise, stereo
indicator flickers), press the FM mode/beat proof button
to indicate "MONO" on the display. This will reduce the
noise and provide clear reception; however, the broad-
cast will not be heard in stereo.

5. Adjust volume and balance.
@ FM auto tuning
In the FM mode, the FM auto tuning feature is activated by
pressing
the desired
tuning button
until the frequency
changes continuously. Upon releasing the button, the next
station on the "dial" is automatically tuned in.
1. Follow the same procedures as described in steps 1-3 of
"Manual tuning".
2. Press the "+"
or "—
1 second.
The frequency display will change and when a broadcast
is received, it will stop automatically.
While tuning (the display is changing), the muting oper-
ates and the sounds cannot be heard.
If the correct reception cannot be done by the FM auto
tuning, the manual tuning is recommended.
