. Connect a frequency counter to the left or right channel
output of the headphone jack as illustrated. Then, insert a
3kHz test tape (Example: TEAC MTT-111) into the cassette
compartment.

First play back the test tape on Tape 1 side and observe the
figure of the Frequency Counter. Then play back the test
tape on Tape 2 side and adjust the VR1 until the figure of the
Frequency Counter shows —30Hz ~ OHz against on Tape 1.
