TIMER RECORDING/PLAYBACK
TIMER RECORDING (unattended recording from a tuner,
etc.)
Insert a blank tape into DECK Il.
Set the NOISE REDUCTION switch @.
Set the REVERSE MODE switch @.
Press the PAUSE ( Mf ) button.
Press the recording (REC @ ) button.

. Prepare the program source.
Set the amplifier input selector to tuner, and tune in the
desired broadcasting station.
7. Adjust the recording level.
(see page 12)
8. Set the audio timer.
Power of all components will go off.
9. Set the TIMER switch to REC.
© Timer recording/playback always starts in forward
direction.
e At the preset time, power will be turned on and recording
will start automatically.
¢ Timer recording will not work if a cassette with its erasure
prevention tabs removed is loaded.

When not performing timer operation, always set the TIMER switch © to the OFF
position. Otherwise, recording or playback might automatically start when turning power
TIMER PLAYBACK (wake-up playback)
1. Insert the recorded tape.
© Playback will be performed on the deck having a cassette
loaded.
¢ |f tapes are loaded in both decks, relay playback will be
carried out.
2. Set the NOISE REDUCTION switch @.
3. Set the REVERSE MODE switch @.
4. Set the stereo amplifier for tape playback.
Adjust the volume level for wake-up playback.
(Check it by actually playing back the tape.)
5. Set the audio timer.
Power of all components will go off.
6. Set the TIMER switch @ to PLAY.
e Atthe preset time, power will be turned on and playback
will start automatically.
¢ Playback will be performed on the deck having a tape
loaded.
¢ If cassettes are loaded in both decks, playback will start
from deck I, and continue on deck Il at the tape end (relay
playback).
¢ The blank skip function will work during timer playback.
Therefore, if an unrecorded portion continues for more
than 15 seconds, the unit will automatically fast-forward
the tape to the beginning of the next selection and resume
playback from there.
e Always set the NOISE REDUCTION switch @ to the
same position used for recording.
¢ Operation of audio timers differs depending on the model,
