The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code:
Blue:
Neutral
Brown:
Live

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may
not correspond
with the coloured
markings
identifying the ter-
minals in your plug proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the ter-
minal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
Notes on ac power cord
The three kinds of ac power cord plugs equipped with your tape
deck are illustrated below :

A detachable power cord adaptor is supplied with the type B plug,
and it permits a direct connection to an ac outlet in your house.

OPERATING VOLTAGE
Before connecting the unit to the power source,
check that the
operating voltage of your unit is the same as the local power lini
voltage.
The model in European countries (type 1):
operates on 220 Vac
(or 240 V ac ~ adjustable by authorized Sony personnel).
The model in the United Kingdom (type 2):
operates on 240 Vac
(or 220 V ac ~ adjustable by authorized Sony personnel).
The model in other countries (type 3):
operates on 110, 120, 220
or 240 Vacr.
The voltage selector is located on the rear panel.
If the selec
tor must be reset, disconnect the ac power cord and turn th«
selector with a coin so that the arrow mark of the selecto
points to the proper voltage figure.
