CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS
Ac WARNING
\
If any adjustments are made to the
engine while the engine is running
(e.g.
carburetor),
disengage
all
clutches and blades. Keep clear of
all
moving
parts.
Be
careful
of
heated surfaces and muffler.
TRANSAXLE
Check the oil level four times a year. Lubricant should
be at the point of overflowing. Use E.P. 90 oil. Drain
and refill every two years. Capacity 4 pints. See figure
14.

Minor carburetor adjustments may be required to
compensate for differences in fuei, temperature,
aititude and load.
Refer to separate engine manual
for carburetor adjustment information.
■^NOTE
A dirty air cleaner will cause an engine
to run rough. Be certain air cleaner is
clean and attached to the carburetor
before adjusting carburetor. Refer to the
separate engine manual.
LINKAGE
Once a season lubricate all the pivot points on the
clutch, brake and lift linkage with SAE 30 engine oil.
FRONT WHEELS
The front wheels are provided with grease fittings.
Lubricate at least once a season with automotive multi¬
purpose grease.
PIVOT POINTS
Lubricate all pivot points with light oil at least once a
season.
LUBRICATION
STEERING GEARS
Wipe off the old grease and dirt. After every 25 f ours
of operation place an automotive multi-purpose grsase
in the teeth of the segment and pinion gears. See f gure
13
.
BALL JOINTS
The ball joints and drag link ends are permanently
lubricated.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING

Disconnect the spark plug wire and
ground against the engine before
performing any adjustments, repairs
or maintenance.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Refer to the chart on page 18 for trouble shooting
engine problems.
CRANKCASE OIL
To ensure maximum engine performance, perform the
following periodic maintenance:
