Using DC Power
You can power the receiver from your vehicle's battery with an op-
tional DC adapter.

You must use a power source that supplies 4.5 Volts

DC and delivers at least 200
mA.
Its center tip must
be set to negative and its plug must fit the DX-399's
DC IN 4.5V jack. The recommended adapter meets these spec-
ifications. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifica-
tions could damage the DX-399 or the adapter.
• Always plug the adapter into the receiver before you plug it into
your vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket, and unplug the adapter
from the vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket before you unplug it
from the receiver.
Follow these steps to use DC power.
1. Set the adapter's volt-
age switch to 4.SV.
2. Insert the adapter's bar-
rel plug into the
receiver's DC IN 4.5V
jack.
3. Insert the adapter's large
plug into the vehicle's
cigarette-lighter socket.
