About Cassette Tapes
- A loose or warped label on a cassette
tape may interfere with the eject mecha-
nism of the unit or cause the cassette to
become jammed in the unit. Avoid using
such tapes or remove such labels from
the cassette before attempting use.

Storing cassettes in areas directly ex-
posed to sunlight or high temperatures
can distort them and subsequently inter-
fere with tape transport. (Fig. 21)

Cleaning the Head
If the playback head becomes dirty, sound
quality will suffer. Periodically (once or
twice a month) clean the head with a cotton
swab soaked with alcohol. (Fig. 22)

Listening to a Tape
1.Insert the cassette tape into the slot [4],
and power will be turned on and the tape
begin being played back.
At this time, the tape running tape play in-
dicator [25] will light up.
2.Adjust volume and tone (see page 10).
3.To eject the cassette tape, press the but-
ton [3].
Do not try to eject the cassette immedi-
ately after insertion, as it will cause
malfunction. Wait a few seconds.
Be sure to eject the tape when the front
panel is removed, or the vehicle's ignition
Changing Program
To hear a tape recorded using a Dolby NR
system, press the button @ of Bank [10].
