Rear I/O Ports

The color-coded I/O ports include one COM port, a VGA port, four USB 2.0 ports
(additional USB headers are included on the serverboard), four gigabit Ethernet
ports and two external MiniSAS HD expansion ports. A dedicated IPMI LAN port
is also included.

Server Chassis Features

The SC847BE1C-R1K28LPB is a 4U form factor chassis designed to be used in
a storage configuration. The following is a general outline of the main features of
the chassis.

System Power

The SC847BE1C-R1K28LPB features a redundant, hot-plug (two separate power
modules) 1280W high-efficiency power supply with I
ture allows you to replace a failed power supply without shutting down the system.

Hard Drives

The SC847BE1C-R1K28LPB chassis was designed to support 36 SATA/SAS hard
drives (24 on the front of the chassis and 12 located on the rear of the chassis),
which are hot-swappable units.

Front Control Panel

The control panel on the front of the chassis provides you with system monitoring
and control. LEDs indicate system power, HDD activity, network activity, system
overheat/fan fail and power supply failure. A main power button and a system reset
button are also included. In addition, two USB ports and a COM port have been
incorporated into the front of the chassis for convenient access.

Cooling System

The SC847BE1C-R1K28LPB chassis includes seven 8-cm hot-plug system cooling
fans located in the middle section of the chassis. An air shroud channels the airflow
from the system fans to efficiently cool the processors and memory. Each power
supply module also includes a cooling fan.
