Filters and by-pass fi lter change
Change the oil fi lters and by-pass fi lter at every oil
change.
1. Stop the engine.
WARNING! Hot oil and hot surfaces may cause
burns.
2. Put a suitable vessel underneath the fi lters to av-
oid oil spill. Clean the fi lter bracket.
3. Unscrew the bypass fi lter and the oil fi lters with a
suitable fi lter wrench.
4. Lightly oil the rubber seal of the new fi lters and
make sure its mating surfaces on the fi lter brack-
ets are clean.
5. Mount the new fi lters by hand until the gasket is
in contact with the sealing surface. Then tighten
the fi lters another 3/4 to 1 turn.
6. Start the engine (idle) and make sure that no lea-
kages occur. Check the oil level once the engine
has stopped.
NOTE! Process the discarded oil fi lters in accordance
with local regulations.
Switchable oil fi lters
IMPORTANT! Though possible, the switchable
fi lters should not be replaced during engine ope-
ration other than in case of an emergency
1. Clean the fi lter bracket.
2. Disconnect the left fi lter by turning the lever to the
right-hand end position. To unlock the lever, pull
the knob beneath the lever downwards.
3. Unscrew the left-hand oil fi lter and discard it. Use
a fi lter wrench if necessary.
4. Check that the mating surfaces on the fi lter brack-
et are clean, and that no traces of the seal from
the old fi lter remain.
5. Oil the rubber seal for the new fi lter.
6. Screw the fi lter on by hand until the rubber seal
just touches the mating surface of the fi lter brack-
et. Then tighten the fi lter a further 3/4 to 1 turn.
7. Turn the lever to the left-hand end position and
change the right-hand oil fi lter in the same way.
8. Put the lever in operating position (straight up).
9. If necessary, top up the system with lubrication
oil at fi rst stop. Refer to section "Lubrication oil
change".
