Remove the bolts that are securing the
ignition coil, and then remove the igni-
tion coil.

Remove the spark plug. If electrode ero-
sion becomes excessive, or if carbon
and other deposits are excessive, you
should replace the spark plug with an-

other of the correct type.
Standard spark plug:
LFR6A-11

Before fitting the spark plug, measure
the electrode gap with a wire thickness
gauge; adjust the gap to specification if
necessary.

Spark plug gap:
1.0–1.1 mm (0.039–0.043 in)

When fitting the plug, wipe off any dirt
from the threads, and then screw it in to
the correct torque.
Spark plug torque:
28.0 Nm (20.7 ft-lb) (2.86 kgf-m)
NOTE:

If a torque-wrench is not available when you
are fitting a spark plug, fully tighten a spark
plug with a spark plug wrench. Then tighten
1/4 to 1/2 turn more. Have the spark plug ad-
justed to the correct torque as soon as pos-
sible with a torque-wrench.
