We greatly appreciate your purchase of this Yamaha product. To assure the finest performance, please read this manual carefully. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference. The YBA-11 is a wireless audio receiver for connecting wirelessly with Bluetooth® devices (mobile phone, portable music player, etc.). Through a digital connection with the AV product, it allows you to enjoy audio with a high sound quality.

Connecting to an AV product

  1. Before connecting any cables, turn off the AV product.
  2. Connect the YBA-11 and the AV product with the supplied USB Power Cable and Coaxial Digital Audio Cable as shown in the illustration.

  3. After connecting the cables, turn on the AV product.

warning If the Yamaha AV product is not equipped with a DC OUT jack, connect the USB Power Cable to the USB jack.
For details on the location of jacks and the operation of the AV product, refer to its owner's manual.

Making a Bluetooth connection

With the Bluetooth device to be connected, perform the following operation.

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth function to search for devices that can be connected.
  2. When the list of Bluetooth devices appears, select "YBA-11 Yamaha".
    If a passkey (PIN) must be entered, enter "0000" with the number keys.

Playing audio from the Bluetooth device

Switch the input on the AV product to the jack where the YBA-11 is connected, and then operate the Bluetooth device to play music.

information To disconnect the Bluetooth connection, perform the disconnection operation from the Bluetooth device, or press the Bluetooth button on the YBA-11.

YBA-11 status indicator

The status indicator appears as described below according to the operating status of the YBA-11.

5 times The power supply has been started
10 times During reset
Off Standing by for a connection
No power is supplied

* After flashing, the indicator turns off, and the YBA-11 stands by for a connection.

Troubleshooting

Check the following if the YBA-11 should not be operating properly.

Symptom Cause and remedy
A connection cannot be made There is a device (microwave oven, wireless LAN device, etc.) nearby emitting electromagnetic waves in the 2.4 GHz band.
Move the YBA-11 away from the device.
Another Bluetooth device is already connected.
Disconnect the current connection, and then connect the new Bluetooth device.
If you cannot resolve the problem, reset the YBA-11 and then make the Bluetooth connection again.
No sound is produced Check the connections of the Coaxial Digital Audio Cable and the input selection on the AV product.
Check the audio output settings and the volume level on the Bluetooth device.

Resetting the YBA-11

Press and hold down the Bluetooth button for at least 5 seconds.
