Before You Begin
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. Use color-matched 100% silicone sealant to
the required areas when instructed. Do not use latex-based sealant or other caulks.
Do not add silicone sealant to any other areas. The inappropriate type and
application of sealant may trap moisture and could result in mold, leakage, or
mildew over the life of the product.
NOTICE: Risk of product damage. Do not install the bath over open floor joists. The
basin area requires no additional support when the subfloor is level and square with
the stud framing. Install the bath on an adequately supported, level subfloor.
Shimming is required if the subfloor is not level.
NOTICE: For baths with apron braces: If the bath shipped in multi-pack cartons,
attach the apron braces to the apron before removing the bath from the carton. Lift
the bath at multiple points on its sides when removing it from the carton or moving
it into position. Do not lift or move the bath by the apron or apron braces.
NOTICE: Risk of product damage. Do not remove the foam backing from the wall
surround sections. Wall surround sections are equipped with foam backing to bring
the back of the wall into contact with the regular stud framing. This foam is not
packing material.
NOTICE: Risk of product damage. To avoid rust marks on your product, ensure the
roofing nails or truss head screws are galvanized or plated. Do not overtighten the
screws. Excessive tightening can damage the wall flange.
NOTICE: Risk of product damage. If your bath is shipped with a liner, keep the
liner in place until construction is complete to prevent surface damage to the unit. If
a liner is not available, place a clean drop cloth or similar material in the bottom of
the bath.
Read all instructions before you begin.
Observe all applicable plumbing and building codes.
This bath is designed for alcove installations.
Upon receipt, check for missing parts or damage to the bath. Report any missing
parts or damage immediately.
Store the bath and wall surrounds in a safe place until you begin installation to
avoid damage.
For remodeling installations: (1) Measure the existing framework before removing
the existing bath to make sure that the new bath will fit in the existing framework.
(2) Make sure that the drain outlet and drain line are in the correct location.
Confirm adequate mounting and connection space for the water supply and drain
installation.
The apron panel is not removable on bath units.
