Note:
For a model with a power unit (PS-180) pre-installed, the "Usage Precautions for the PS-
180 Power Unit" is also included in the package.
Notes on Usage

Power cables with a straight connector part (illustration A-a) can be used. Cables
with an angled connector part (illustration A-b) may not fit, depending on a shape
of the connector. Make sure the connector will fit.

When the PS-Cover is attached, the description of EMI standards on the bottom
of the printer is hard to see. To read the EMI standards, uninstall the PS-Cover if
necessary.

You can hang the printer with the PS-Cover on the wall, using the optional WH-
10 hanging bracket set. Read the WH-10 installation manual for instructions.
Installing the Power Unit
Follow the steps described below to install the power unit (PS-180) in the PS-Cover.
Refer also to the order marked inside the PS-Cover to arrange the cable.
If the power unit is pre-installed, these steps are not necessary.
1. Set the core (1 in illustration B) of the DC cable in the position shown in
illustration B.
2. Place the power unit in the position shown in illustration C with the label side of
the power unit down, and push it downward so that it is not lifted from the PS-
Cover.
3. Set the DC cable between the power unit and the core in the hook (2 in
illustration D) of the PS-Cover securely.
4. Wrap the DC cable around the two projections (3 in illustration E) 3 times in a
figure eight, as shown in illustration E.
5. Push the DC cable securely through the cable holder (4 in illustration F) of the
PS-Cover.
CAUTION:
To avoid causing electronic interference, make sure of the following points when installing
the power unit.
• Set the core of the DC cable in the position shown in illustration
• Wrap the DC cable around the two projections in a figure 8.
