Partition a new hard drive using Windows Disk Manager
Step
1 From the Windows
a 'Start'
b 'Programs'
c 'Administrative Tools'
d 'Computer Management'
2 Choose 'Disk Management'.
3 Right-click on 'Unallocated'.
4 Select "New Partition".
5 Click 'Next'.
6 Highlight 'Primary Partition'.
7 Click 'Next'.
8 To 'Specify partition size' use the default 'Set
9 Click 'Next'.
10 Select 'Assign the following drive letter' Use
11 Click 'Next".
12 Accept the defaults.
13 Type "Recovery" into the Volume Label field.
14 Select "Perform a quick format"
15 Click 'Next'.
16 Click 'Finish'.
17 Close the Computer Management window.

the default "D".

Notes
The 'Computer Management' window
appears.
Disk 0 is the entire hard drive. There are two
sections. One section is approximately 20%
of the total. This was set by the bootable CD
as unallocated space.
The 'Welcome to the New Partition Wizard'
screen appears.
"Select partition type" appears.
This is the default.
The 'Specify Partition Size' screen appears.
This is the default.
The 'Format Partition' screen appears.
File system 'NTFS'
Allocation unit size 'default'
The message 'Completing the New Partition
Wizard' appears. This process takes about 15
seconds
See 'Recovery (D)'
approximately 7.45 GB NTFS
