modem is responding and is ready to connect via cellular. First type AT
and press enter on your keyboard. You should receive the response OK.
This tells you that the modem is ready and is waiting further instructions.
Now type AT^T6. You should receive one of the following responses:
000 = Cellular driver loaded, no cellular cable attached to the modem.
160 = Cellular driver loaded, phone is off.
176 = Cellular driver loaded, phone is on. (Ready to Connect)
184 = Cellular driver loaded, phone is on, no cellular service found.
Error = No cellular driver loaded.
Of course, you're looking for a 176 response. If this is returned, then press
F7 and the Dial-Up Connection will continue as usual. However, you
should see the phone number flash across the LCD screen of the cellphone,
as if it were speed dialing.
Now, you are ready to connect through dialup networking using a
cellphone.
