7. Install the new heat sink.
8. Reinstall the removed parts in reverse order of the removal steps mentioned above.
9. Reconnect all disconnected cables to the computer and reconnect the power cord to the electric outlet.
System fans
Prerequisite
Before you start, read Chapter 1 "Important safety information" on page 1 and print the following
instructions.
Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is
cool.
Replacement procedure
1. Remove the power cord. See "Power cord" on page 57.
2. Remove the computer upper cover. See "Computer upper cover" on page 57.
3. Remove the system stand. See "System stand (with or without wireless charging module)" on page 59.
4. Remove the computer back cover. See "Computer back cover" on page 59.
5. Remove the system board shielding fence. See "System board shielding fence" on page 65.
6. Remove six screws. Disconnect the system fan connectors from the system board, then remove the
system fans.
