Using the Built - in Flash
✤ You can take natural looking flash pictures with appropriate illumination
using the built-in flash or attaching the VL-S1FL video Light/ Flash
(optional) to the camcorder's Smart shoe (see page 109), whether they
are night scenes, in doors or in other dark places.

OFF : The flash does not fire.
I
(Auto): The flash comes on depending on the brightness of the
subject.
I
(Flash on): The flash comes on regardless of the brightness of
the subject.
I
(Red-eye reduction auto : built-in flash only) : The flash pre-fires
automatically before the main firing to reduce red-eye.

FLASH SELECT
✤ The FLASH function works in CAMERA and M.REC
mode.
✤ If the FLASH mode is set to off, there is no FLASH
ICON in the LCD monitor.
1. Set the camcorder to CAMERA mode or M.REC mode.
(see page 29)
2. Press the (FLASH) button.
3. Each time you press the
(FLASH) button, FLASH mode is changed
to
(AUTO), (FLASH ON),
off.

Warning!
Do not fire the flash with the flash bulb covered with
your hand.
I
Do not fire the flash close to people's eyes.
Notes

While using the following functions, you cannot use the FLASH function:

PROGRAM AE, SHUTTER SPEED, EXPOSURE, STROBE (DSE
function), SLOW SHUTTER, CONTINUOUS SHOT, MEMORY MIX

When you are recording movies onto a tape.
I
If the flash is forced to fire (Flash on) in a bright location, the flash effect
may not be seen on the recorded picture.
I
When
(Red-eye reduction auto) is set, the flash fires twice-once to
perform red-eye reduction and the second for taking the main picture.
There is approximately a 1.5 second gap between flashes.

Utilización del flash incorporado
✤ De noche, en interiores o en otros lugares oscuros, puede tomar
imágenes que tengan un aspecto natural con el flash incorporado y la
iluminación adecuada o acoplando el foco y el flash de la cámara VL-
S1FL (opcional) a la zapata de la videocámara (ver página 109).

OFF (Desactivado): el flash no se dispara.
I
(Automático) : el flash se dispara en función de la luminosidad
de la zona donde se encuentra el objeto.
I
(Flash activado) : el flash se dispara independientemente de la
luminosidad de la zona donde se encuentra el objeto.
I
(Reducción automática del efecto ojos rojos: sólo con el flash
incorporado): el flash se dispara previamente de manera automática
antes del disparo principal para reducir el efecto ojos rojos.

Selección de flash (FLASH SELECT)
✤ La función de selección de flash (FLASH) sólo opera
en las modalidades CAMERA y M.REC.
✤ Al desactivar el modo FLASH, no aparece el FLASH
ICON en la pantalla de LCD.
1. Ajuste la videocámara en la modalidad CAMERA o
M.REC. (ver página 29)
2. Pulse el botón (FLASH).
3. Cada vez que se pulsa el botón (FLASH), el modo FLASH cambia a
(AUTO), (FLASH ON),
desconectado.

Precaución:
Si tapa la bombilla del flash con la mano, no lo dispare.
I
No dispare el flash cerca de los ojos.
Notas
I
No puede utilizar el flash al tiempo que utiliza las siguientes funciones:

PROGRAM AE, SHUTTER SPEED, EXPOSURE, STROBE (función
DSE), SLOW SHUTTER, CONTINUOUS SHOT, MEMORY MIX

Mientras graba películas en una cinta.

Si se fuerza el disparo del flash (Flash activado) en un lugar luminoso,
quizá no se vea el efecto del flash en la imagen grabada.
I
Cuando se configura
(reducción automática de ojos rojos), el flash
se dispara dos veces: una para realizar la reducción de ojos rojos y otra
para sacar la imagen principal. Existe un desfase de aproximadamente
1,5 segundos entre los flashes.
