General maintenance

Routine checks
The SmartController does NOT contain any user-serviceable parts. If you
remove the main cover you will invalidate the warranty. It should be
serviced only by authorized Raymarine service technician.
As a result, user maintenance is limited to the following checks
make sure all cable connectors are firmly attached
examine for signs of wear or damage – replace any damaged
cables
Cleaning the SmartController
Take care when cleaning the display. Avoid wiping the display screen with a
dry cloth as this could scratch the screen coating. If necessary, only use a
mild detergent.
Never use chemical or abrasive materials to clean the controller. If it is dirty,
wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.
Dealer Maintenance Procedures
This section includes procedures that have a significant impact on autopilot
operation and can affect your boat's safety. You will not need to follow
these procedures in normal operation. We therefore recommend that these
are only performed by authorised service personnel.
