1
To deplete the rechargeable battery of any charge, remove the handle
from the charger, switch on the Sonicare and let it operate until it
stops. Repeat this step until you can no longer switch on the Sonicare.
2
Place the handle, with the power on/off button facing upwards,
on a stable, flat surface (Fig. 15).
3
Loosely wrap the handle in a towel (Fig. 16).
4
Hold the handle steady within the towel with one hand. Strike the
front of the handle 2.5cm from the bottom with the hammer to
detach the bottom cap from the handle (Fig. 17).
Note: Repeat this step if necessary.
5
When the bottom cap is loose, pull the cap off the handle.
6
Remove the internal frame from the handle housing. (Fig. 18)
7
If there is tape holding the battery in place, cut the tape with a pair
of scissors (Fig. 19).
8
Insert a flat-head (standard) screwdriver between the battery and
the frame. Tilt the screwdriver to pop the battery out of the
frame (Fig. 20).
9
Place some tape over the ends of the battery to avoid any short-
circuiting due to residual energy in the battery (Fig. 21).
