Configuration and downloading the configuration data
It is possible to download the configuration data to the CP via MPI or LAN/Industrial Ethernet.
Downloading is possible over the RNA or the Ethernet interface of the CP. You require STEP 7
with additional modules in the following version:

Program blocks
Program blocks
For some communications services, there are preprogrammed program blocks (FCs / FBs)
available as the interface in your STEP 7 user program.
Refer to the documentation of the program blocks in the online help of STEP 7 or in the
manual /4/ (Page 74).
Note
Using current block versions
We recommend that you always use the latest block versions for all module types.
You will find information on the current block versions and the current blocks to download
from the Internet in our Customer Support under entry ID:

With older module types, this recommendation assumes that you are using the latest
firmware for the particular module type.
Using program blocks for the SEND/RECEIVE interface
For data transfer on the SEND/RECEIVE interface, there are program blocks for short and long
blocks of data.
