Coolant solution is 50% water and 50% antifreeze fluid. This is the ideal mixture for
most operating temperatures and provides good corrosion protection. It is advisable
to use the same mixture even in hot weather as this minimises loss due to evaporation
and the need of frequent top-ups. Thus, mineral salt deposits formed in the radiator
by evaporated water are also minimised and the efficiency of the cooling system is
not affected. When the external temperature drops below zero degrees centigrade,
check the cooling system frequently and add more antifreeze solution if needed (up
to 60% max.).
Use distilled water in the coolant mixture to avoid damaging the engine.
