Frequently Asked Questions

First Time Setup
When I unpack my Philips Wireless Music Center & Station from the box for the first
time, how do I do the wireless setup for the Music Center & Station?
First time out-of-the-box, there is no need to do any Wireless setup between your new Music Center &
Station (bundled) as they are already preset wirelessly in the factory. Simply power up the Music Center
and then the Music Station, and you can immediately enjoy streaming preloaded sample tracks from the
Center to the Station wirelessly.
Can I add access to my music collection in additional rooms at home, other than the two
where my Center and Station are located?
Yes, up to 4 additional rooms can be added to this system when you purchase additional Music Stations.
How do I add an additional Station to my original Music Center & Station bundle?
To add a new Station to your bundle, select the "Add New Station" option from the Station
Management menu on the Center. Power up the new Station and you will be prompted on the Center
to confirm adding this new Station when it's searched and found.
Will my music collection be secure from access by neighbors?
The chance of such incident happening is very slim. In order for a neighbor to access your music
collection, the neighbor would have to add a Station at the exact moment you selected "Add New
Station". Moreover, your neighbor would have to power up the new Station during this time to
synchronize the search program.
Can I also use the 2-way LCD Remote Control on the Station?
The Music Station can recognize both the 2-way LCD remote as well as the Card remote. Hence, you
can conveniently use either remote to navigate and operate.
What is the maximum distance between the Center and Station in order to allow
effective wireless streaming?
The Standard WiFi specification is 100m. However, normally due to the build-up inside homes e.g. multiple
layers of walls and doors, the recommended effective distance for streaming of non-distorted digital music
may be slightly lower (approx<60m).
What is the fastest way to transfer all my digital music from the PC to the Music Center?
The fastest way is to use the supplied Ethernet cable and Philips Digital Media Manager application
software.
Can I download music from the internet and store them on the Music Center?
Yes, if your PC is internet connected, you can basically download MP3 music from selected legal websites
onto your PC and then transfer these tracks to the Music Center via the provided Ethernet cable, using
Philips Digital Media Manager. Alternatively, you can burn a CD-Rom of your tracks and then record them
onto the Music Center hard disk.
