This section provides you with information about the properties of the module.
Operating states
The following operating states are possible
• RUN mode (Page 33)
• STOP mode (Page 33)
• STARTUP operating state (Page 34)
• ERROR-SEARCH mode (Page 34)
• "Unexpected error" operating state (Page 34)

RUN mode
Behavior of the CPU
In RUN mode, the CPU executes the user program. The I/O can be accessed.
You can load user program changes from the engineering station to the CPU.
5.1.3
STOP mode
Behavior of the CPU
The user program is not executed by the CPU. If the CPU is in STOP, the following applies:
• Output modules output the value 0 or - if configured - a substitute value.
• The channels of the input modules are set to 0.
