Using the Self-Timer

The self-timer can be used in situations such as group shots. When using this option, you should either
mount the camera on a tripod (recommended) or rest it on a flat, level surface.
1. Secure the camera to a tripod or place it on a stable surface.

6. Compose your scene and press the shutter button.
The self-timer function is activated.
The photograph is then taken after the preset time.
To cancel the self-timer at any time, press the shutter button.
The table below will help you choose the appropriate self-timer mode:
Self-timer mode Description
Timer off
The self-timer is off.
2 seconds
The image is captured about 2 seconds after the shutter is pressed. This mode is

useful for preventing camera shake.
10 seconds The image is captured about 10 seconds after the shutter is pressed. This mode is

suitable for the shots in which the photographer has to be included.
10+2 seconds The first image is captured about 10 seconds after the shutter button is pressed,
and then the second image is captured 2 seconds later. This mode is convenient
when capturing group images in succession.
After one shot is taken, the self-timer mode is turned off.
If you wish to take another image using the self-timer, repeat these steps.
