Connecting the Development Scan Engine to the PC

The development OEM scan engine can connect to a PC for evaluation.

Connecting with USB

Note: The N3680XX-XX-USB scan engine will only communicate USB through the 10 pin modular connector.
1. Turn off power to the terminal/computer.
2. If using full-speed USB, connect the USB interface cable to the interface board and to the matching USB port on the
computer.
3. Verify the scan engine operation by scanning a bar code from the
engine beeps once when a bar code is successfully decoded.
Note: The default interface is USB Keyboard (PC). If you change to USB Serial, you will need to install the USB driver. See
"USB Serial" on page 2-2.
