THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. IF USED COMMERICALLY WARRANTY IS VOID.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:

  • Fully assemble before operating.
  • Operate cleaner only at voltage specified on data plate on back of cleaner.
  • Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
  • Do not allow to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children age 12 and under. Close supervision is necessary when used near children. To avoid injury or damage, keep children away from product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other objects into any openings.
  • Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
  • Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center for inspection. Call 1-800-321-1134 for the nearest service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce air flow.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Turn off all controls before unplugging.
  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. To avoid personal injury or damage, and to prevent the cleaner from falling, always place cleaner at bottom of stairs or on floor. Do not place cleaner on stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage.
  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or fine wood sandings or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting motorized nozzle.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
  • Store the product indoors. Put the product away after use to prevent tripping accidents.
  • Do not use without filters and/or dirt cup in place.

  • Any other servicing should be done by an authorized service representative.
  • Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

A THERMAL PROTECTOR HAS BEEN DESIGNED INTO YOUR CLEANER TO PROTECT IT FROM OVERHEATING. WHEN THE THERMAL PROTECTOR ACTIVATES THE CLEANER WILL STOP RUNNING.
If this happens proceed as follows:

  1. Turn cleaner OFF and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
  2. Empty dirt cup.
  3. Inspect the nozzle inlet, hose connector, hose, dirt cup inlet, cyclonic filter, rinsable filter, and HEPA filter. Clear obstructions if present.
  4. When cleaner is unplugged and motor cools for 30 minutes, the thermal protector will deactivate and cleaning may continue.

If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner needs servicing.

HOW TO USE

QUICK FLIP CREVICE TOOL

Easily clean cracks and crevices.

  1. Flip the crevice tool out and push in to clean cracks and crevices.

  2. To store crevice tool: gently pull the tool away from the dust cup and flip the tool up toward the unit & press down until you feel it lock into place.

POWERED STAIR & UPHOLSTERY TOOL

Easily clean stairs, upholstery and more.

  1. Push powered brushroll into hand vac nozzle to attach.
    TIP: When unit is on, the powered brushroll will be on.

  2. To remove powered brushroll, gently pull tool away from the hand vac.

NOTE: The powered brushroll has its own motor and a motor protective device: should debris jam the brushroll and stop it from rotation, switch unit OFF, remove the powered brushroll from the unit, remove the debris jamming the brushroll and reassemble the powered brushroll. Then wait a few minutes prior to turning the unit ON again.


To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, remove powered brushroll before cleaning or servicing.

FILTER REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT

TIP: To maintain performance, filter should be changed every 3-6 months, or as needed.

  1. While holding the dirt cup and handle, press dirt cup release button.
  2. Remove the dirt cup to access filter.
  3. Remove filter assembly from dirt cup & separate the white filter from the filter housing. Tap filter over a trash can to remove debris. Be sure to also wipe debris from the filter housing.
    NOTE: Do not discard filter or filter housing.

  4. Put the filter back into the filter housing and place filter assembly back into the dirt cup. Reassemble dirt cup to body, align bottom first and rotate up until it clicks.

NOTE: Filter is rinseable with water. Do not use soap/detergent. Let filter air dry for 24 hours or until completely dry.

LUBRICATION The motor is equipped with bearings which contains sufficient lubrication for its lifetime.
The addition of lubricant could cause damage. Do not add lubricant to motor.

To reduce the risk of personal injury, turn power switch off before cleaning or servicing. Do not use vacuum without dirt cup or filters in place.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Any other servicing should be done by an authorized service representative. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a service center prior to continuing use.


To reduce the risk of personal injury -
Turn power switch off before cleaning or servicing.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION

Vacuum won't run

  1. Power cord not firmly plugged into outlet.
  2. Blown fuse or tripped breaker.
  3. No voltage in wall plug.
  4. Thermal Protector activated.
  1. Plug unit in firmly.
  2. Check fuse or breaker in home. Replace fuse/breaker in home.
  3. Replace fuse/reset breaker in home.
  4. Unplug and allow vacuum to cool for 30min.
    (This willl reset the thermal protector)

Dust escaping from vacuum

  1. Dirt cup full.
  2. Dirt cup not installed correctly.
  3. Rinsable and/ or Filter made with HEPA media not installed completely.
  1. Empty dirt cup.
  2. Review Dirt Cup removal & replacement.
  3. Review Filter Removal and Cleaning.

Smokey burning smell detected

  1. Belt broken or stretched.
  2. Stair tool is clogged
  1. Call customer service:
    1-800-321-1134
  2. Clear/remove debris from brush roll.

Vacuum tools won't pick-up

  1. Dirt cup full
  2. Filter is clogged.
  3. Stair tool not spinning.
  1. Empty dirt cup.
  2. Romove filter and clean.
  3. Review 'how to' section.

Poor suction

  1. Dirt cup not completelty sealed.
  2. Filter is clogged.
  1. Resintall dirt cup, make sure lid is closed completely.
  2. Remove filter and clean.

Vacuum running warm

  1. Dirty filter.
  2. Low suction.
  1. Clean filter, rinse, dry and re-assemble.
  2. Locate clog and remove.
