CAB CLIMATE CONTROL

HEATER/AIR CONDITIONER VENTS

The operator has complete control of the air flow in the
cab. Heater/air conditioner vents (5, Figure 32-1) are
flapper-type vents. The vents may be individually
opened or closed, and may be rotated 360° for opti-
mum air flow. There are four (three not shown) across
the top of the panel, two in front of the operator (one
each in the right and left panel modules), and four
below the panel.
HEATER/AIR CONDITIONER CONTROLS
AND VENTS
Heater/air conditioner unit (6, Figure 32-1) contains
heater/air conditioner controls and the heater/air con-
ditioner components, such as the blower motor and
heater coils. Optimum cab air climate can be
selected by using the following controls in various
combinations.

Defroster Vent Control Switch

Defroster vent control switch (1, Figure 32-8) directs
heated air to the windshield for defrosting. The down
position of the toggle switch is off, and the up position
is on.

Heat Control Switch

Heat control switch (2, Figure 32-8) directs heated air
to the cab floor for heating of the cab. The down posi-
tion of the toggle switch is off. The up position of the
toggle switch is on.

Temperature Control Knob

Temperature control knob (3, Figure 32-8) adjusts the
outlet air temperature of the heater/air conditioner.
Rotating the knob counterclockwise (blue arrow) will
select cooler temperatures. Full counterclockwise
position is the coldest air setting.
Rotating the knob clockwise (red arrow) will select
warmer temperatures. Full clockwise position is the
warmest heater setting.

Fan Control Knob

Fan control knob (4, Figure 32-8) controls the 3-speed
heater/air conditioner internal fan unit. Full counter-
clockwise is the off position. Rotating the knob clock-
wise selects increasingly higher fan speeds.
NOTE: The air conditioner will not operate unless the
fan control knob is turned on.
Heater/Air Conditioner Vents
Heater/air conditioner vents (6, Figure 32-8) may be
rotated 360°. Air flow through the vents is controlled
by manually opening/closing, or turning the louvers.
