– Unhook brake cable -A- from cable mounting -1- of foot oper‐
ated parking brake lever.
Installing
– Install in reverse order of removal.
Note
After installing parking brake lever and tightening both screws
-5 and 6-, remove transport lock (drill) from parking brake lever.
There will be an automatic length compensation of the brake ca‐
ble caused by the spring.
Free play of foot operated parking brake lever must be checked
again. Refer to
⇒ "9 Free Play of Foot Operated Parking Brake, Checking ", page
111 .
12.3 Foot Operated Parking Brake Gas-Filled
Strut, Removing and Installing
Note
♦ No trim needs to be remove to remove and install the gas-filled
strut.
The gas-filled strut is clipped into the foot operated parking
♦
brake lever at two slots -arrow-.
Removing
– On the lower ball stud from the foot operated parking brake
gas-filled strut lift the retaining spring -arrow- with a small
screw driver.
– Remove the gas-filled strut from the lower ball stud -2-.
– Turn the gas-filled strut slightly downward.
– On the upper ball stud from the foot operated parking brake
gas-filled strut lift the retaining spring -arrow- with a small
screw driver.
– Remove the gas-filled strut from the lower ball stud -2-.
Installing
Observe correct installed position -arrow- the strut is attached to
the pedal.
