    Hardware Overview Model WAX214v2 This manual is for the NETGEAR Essentials WiFi 6 AX1800 Dual Band Access Point Model WAX214v2. In this manual, we refer to this indoor, standalone model as the AP. The AP provides 802.11ax high-performance WiFi connectivity for a small office/home office.

    The switch must be connected to a network router that is connected to the Internet. If you use a regular switch, the AP requires a power adapter, which is supplied for model WAX214PA. (For model WAX214v2, a power adapter is an option that you can purchase.) Figure 5.

Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a switch that is connected to your network and to the Internet.

(The computer can connect to the LAN in a different way, but as long as the computer and the AP are on the same LAN, the following procedure is applicable.)

You can disable the DHCP client and set a static (fixed) IP address for the AP.
