Information on the REACH regulation

EU and EFTA countries only:
The REACH regulation (Regulation (EC) No.
1907/2006, Article 33) stipulates a duty to sup‐
ply information about substances of very high
concern (SVHCs).
Mercedes‑Benz AG acts to the best of its knowl‐
edge to prevent these SVHCs from being used
and to enable customers to safely handle these
substances. There are SVHCs known to
Mercedes‑Benz AG, according to supplier infor‐
mation and internal product information, found
in individual components of this vehicle in quan‐
tities of over 0.1 percent by weight.

Notes for persons with electronic medical
aids
Mercedes-Benz AG cannot, despite carefully
developing vehicle systems, completely rule out
the interaction of vehicle systems with electronic
medical aids such as cardiac pacemakers.
In addition, there are components installed in
the vehicle that, regardless of the operating sta‐
tus of the vehicle, can generate magnetic fields
on a par with permanent magnets. This fields
can, for example, be in found in the multimedia
or sound system or also in the area of the seats,
depending on the vehicle equipment.
For this reason, the following can occur in isola‐
ted cases, depending on the aids used:
Aids malfunctioning
R
Adverse health effects
R
Observe the notes and warnings of the manufac‐
turer of the medical aids; if in doubt, contact the
device manufacturer and/or your doctor.
Mercedes-Benz AG recommends using only few
electrical vehicle systems and/or maintaining a
distance from the components if there is con‐
tinuing uncertainty concerning the possibility of
medical aids malfunctioning.
Only have repairs and maintenance work in the
area of the following components carried out by
a qualified specialist workshop:
vehicle components carrying live voltage
R
transmission aerials
R
multimedia system and sound system
R
If you have any queries or suggestions, consult a
qualified specialist workshop.
