    Performing the Initial Configuration The first time you turn on power to a Nokia EM5400 IP Security Platform appliance, the initial configuration process begins. This process enables you to configure the network settings and provides access to the admin account.

    Performing the Initial Configuration Using a Console Connection To perform the initial configuration of the Nokia EM5400 IP Security Platform appliance, you must use a serial console connection (cable included). After you perform the initial configuration, you no longer need the console connection.
