Limitation of App-Connect applications when driv-
ing
For safety reasons, some App-Connect applications
cannot be operated while driving, or their use is limi-
ted.
Setting up App-Connect
Apple CarPlay – Connection using USB
— Turn on the Infotainment.
— Switch on the mobile device.
— Connect the mobile device to the USB input using
a cable .
— Select the connection using Apple CarPlay.
Apple CarPlay – connecting via WLAN from the Info-
tainment system
— Turn on Bluetooth® and Bluetooth® visibility on
the mobile device.
— Tap
Connect Devices Add device
— In the displayed list, look for the desired device
with the symbol and select it.
— Follow the instructions on the Infotainment
screen and confirm the Bluetooth® pairing.
— From the list of known devices, select the desired
device with the
symbol.
Apple CarPlay – connecting via WLAN from a mobile
device
To establish a connection, the following conditions
must be met:
✓ The minimum iOS version is 9.
✓ The WLAN and Bluetooth® functionality is
switched on in the Infotainment system.
— In the mobile device, turn on the CarPlay function.
— The Infotainment screen displays a connection
message with the name of the Infotainment Blue-
tooth® device.
— Find available Bluetooth® devices on the phone.
— Select the Infotainment Bluetooth® device.
— If necessary, confirm the PIN.
— In the Infotainment screen, select the Apple Car-
Play connection.
Apple CarPlay – disconnecting
— In the Apple CarPlay menu, tap the "Volkswagen"
functional surface.
Android Auto– connection via USB
To establish a connection, the following condition
must be met:
✓ The minimum Android version is 6.
— Switch on the Infotainment system.
— Switch on the mobile device.
— Connect the mobile device to the USB input using
a cable.
— Select connection via Android Auto.
Android Auto – connecting via WLAN from the Info-
tainment system
— Turn on Bluetooth® and Bluetooth® visibility on
the mobile device.
— Tap
— Select the desired device from the list of available
devices.
— Select the hands-free Bluetooth® profile.
— Enter and confirm the PIN.

— From the list of known devices, select the desired
device with the
Android Auto – connecting via WLAN from a mobile
device
To establish a connection, the following conditions
must be met:
✓ The WLAN and Bluetooth® functionality is
switched on in the Infotainment system.
✓ The minimum Android version is 11.
— Find available Bluetooth® devices on the phone.
— Select the Infotainment Bluetooth® device.
— If necessary, confirm the PIN.
— In the Infotainment screen, select the Android Au-
to connection.
Android Auto – disconnecting
— In the menu Android Auto, tap
Switching to another device/type of connection
The Infotainment system allows you to switch be-
tween the currently connected devices or connec-
tion type.
— Tap
— Select the desired device or connection type.
