2 Optional First Steps

2.1 Checking the Format
When t he HD DVR is first powered on, t he Aut o Set up Welcom e screen will
aut om at ically appear. I f you do not see t he below Welcom e screen on your TV:
2.2 Completing or Skipping the Auto Setup
I f t he HD DVR will be used t o receive cable or ant enna services, follow t he on- screen
inst ruct ions of t he Aut o Set up and TV Guide
I f t he HD DVR will only be used t o play t he pre- recorded cont ent ( such as in a ret ail
environm ent wit h no available cable or ant enna connect ion) , you m ay follow t hese
st eps t o skip t he Aut o Set up and TV Guide Set up.

1. Check t he connect ions from t he HD DVR t o t he TV
2. Check t hat t he correct Form at set t ing for your TV has
been select ed. Repeat edly press t he FORM AT but t on
on t he rem ot e cont rol or front panel unt il a form at
set t ing t hat is com pat ible wit h your TV is displayed on
t he front panel ( such as " 1 0 8 0 ", " 7 2 0 p", " SD OUT",
et c.) and t he below im age appears.
1. While t he above screen is displayed, press t he
SCREEN M OD E but t on on t he rem ot e cont rol.
2. Ent er t he num bers " 1 ", " 1 ", " 2 ", " 0 ".
