Erase notes
to delete the

Infrared
(Menu 9)
In this menu you can set up your
phone to receive data through its
infrared (IR) port. To use an IR
connection, the device with which
you want to establish a connection
must be IrDA compliant.
The phone is a Class 1 Laser Product.
Setting the devices ready for
infrared connection
• The preferable distance between
the two devices in infrared
connection is up to 60 cm.
• There must be no obstructions
between the two communicating
devices.
• The IR ports of the two devices
must point at each other.

Receiving data via the IR
port
To receive data from another
compatible phone:
1. Ensure that the two phones are
ready for the IR connection.
2. Select the Infrared menu to
activate the IR port for data
reception.
3. The user of the sending phone
selects the desired IR function to
start data transfer.
If data transfer is not started within
2 minutes after the activation of the
IR port, the connection is cancelled
and will have to be started again.

Sending data via the IR port

You can send data to a compatible
phone or PC provided with an
appropriate application.
Refer to the documentation supplied
with the application and to the
following section in this user's guide.
You can:
• Send a graphic via IR. See 'Caller
groups'.
• Copy names and numbers from
Phone Book. See 'Copying via IR'.
• Send a calendar note via IR. See
'Calendar (Menu 8)'.
