Troubleshooting

No lights are lit on the modem
The modem has no power.
Make sure you're using the correct power adapter (15 VAC).
Make sure the power adapter is properly connected to the modem.
Make sure the power adapter is properly connected to a functioning power outlet. If it's in
a power strip, make sure the power strip is turned on.
The Internet light doesn't light up
The Power light and the Ethernet (or USB) light is lit, but the Internet light isn't lit.
You may not have active ADSL service yet. Contact your provider to verify activation.
If you have multiple phone lines, you may be connecting to the wrong one. Try
connecting to a different line.
The Internet light is blinking yellow
The modem is attempting to connect.
If it doesn't turn green within a few minutes, disconnect all phones on the line and
reconnect them one by one using a microfilter with each.
If it still doesn't turn green, the phone wiring may be bad.
The Ethernet (or USB) light isn't lit
There's a hardware connection problem.
Make sure the cable connectors are securely plugged in at the modem and the computer.
Make sure the computer is turned on.
I cannot get onto the Internet with a computer
You may not have restarted the computer to have TCP/IP changes take effect.
Restart the computer.
Unplug the modem, plug it in again, wait 10 seconds, and then restart the computer.
Your computer may not recognize any addresses.
If you typed in addresses of one or two DNS servers when you configured the modem,
restart your computer. Open the modem's Settings pages and verify that the DNS
addresses appear. See instructions on page 9 to view the modem's Basic Settings page.
Your computer may not have the correct TCP/IP settings to recognize the modem.
Restart the computer and check that you have TCP/IP set up properly.
