3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Viking Horizon
Model H-3 Resi-
®
dential Sprinkler is a small, flush, high
sensitivity solder link and lever spray
sprinkler. The sprinkler is available in
several finishes with temperature ratings
to meet varying design requirements.
The sprinkler is listed for use in resi-
dential applications below smooth,
flat horizontal ceilings with spacings
up to 20' x 20' and ceilings with
slopes up to and including a 6/12
o
pitch (26.6
) with spacings up to 18' x
18'. Designed for use with concealed
piping, the unit is mounted flush with the
ceiling, with the fusible link exposed.
The separate decorative ceiling ring al-
lows for up to 1/2" (12,7 mm) adjustment.
The two piece design allows the instal-
lation and testing of the sprinklers prior
to the installation of the ceiling. The ceil-
ing ring can be removed and re-installed
allowing access above removable ceil-
ing panels without shutting down the
sprinkler system and removing the sprin-
kler. The deflector is held inside the body
until the eutectic metal solder link is
fused. During fire conditions, when the
fusible link reaches its operating tem-
perature, the link, levers and center

For areas of coverage smaller than those shown, use the "Minimum Water Supply Requirement" for the
next larger "Area of Coverage" listed for the sprinkler used. The distance from sprinklers to walls shall
not exceed one half the sprinkler spacing indicated for the "Minimum Water Supply Requirement" used.
