2-10 SATA Connections

S-SATA 3.0 Ports

Two S-SATA 3.0 ports (S-SATA0/S-SATA1), supported by the Intel PCH chip,
are located on the motherboard. These SATA ports are used with Supermicro
SuperDOM (Disk-on-Module) connectors, which are yellow SATA connectors with
power-pins built-in, and are backward-compatible with regular SATA HDDs and
SATA DOMs. All SATA ports provide serial-link signal connections, which are faster
than the connections of Parallel ATA.
Note 1
power pins built-in and do not require separate external power cables.
These connectors are backward-compatible with non-Supermicro SATA-
DOMs that require an external power supply.
Note 2: For more information on the SATA HostRAID configuration, please
refer to the Intel SATA HostRAID user's guide posted on our website @
http://www.supermicro.com.
