Use a brush to remove carbon deposits

from the spark arrester screen. Be careful
to avoid damaging the spark arrester
screen. The spark arrester must be free of
breaks and holes. Replace, if necessary.
Check the gasket. Replace, if necessary.
Install a new gasket and the spark arrester

in the muffler and tighten the spark
arrester mounting bolts to the specified
torque:
Torque: 6.6 lbf·ft (9 N·m, 0.9 kgf·m)

winding the glass wool from the position
as shown.
Install the tail cap cover, washers and

tighten the tail cap cover bolts to the
specified torque:
Torque: 3.9 lbf·ft (5.25 N·m, 0.5 kgf·m)
