It should be noted that the machine is not equipped for highway use and should only be driven on the public
highway in compliance with any statutory regulation.
The drive controls are located in the cage and the machine can be driven with the cage positioned at either end
of the machine. If driving is attempted from the 'steering' end of the machine, all directions given to the controls
will be reversed so the operator may find driving easier with the cage positioned at the 'drive' end. Arrows on
the chassis show the true control direction. Before driving the machine, check the following;

The drive controls are located in the cage and consist of a joystick controller and a footswitch. These controls
can be seen in Figure 3.1 (on page 3-6).

Start the Engine.
(b)
At the ground controls, set the CAGE/GROUND selector switch to CAGE.
(c)
At the cage controls, set the LIFT/DRIVE selector switch to DRIVE.
(d)
Fully depress the footswitch.
(e)
With the footswitch depressed, push the joystick forward to drive the machine forward, or pull the
joystick back to drive the machine in reverse.
Note:- To disengage the brakes, the footswitch must be depressed and the joystick moved.
