Your service provider programs one or more
emergency phone numbers, such as 911, that you can
call at any time, even when your phone is locked.
Note: Check with your service provider, as emergency
numbers vary by country. Your phone may not work in
all locations, and sometimes an emergency call cannot
be placed due to network, environmental, or
interference issues. Do not solely rely on your
wireless phone for essential communications such as
medical emergencies.
To make an emergency call: Turn your phone on, exit
any open application such as games, dial the
emergency number, then press the Send key (
call the emergency number.
AGPS during an
emergency call
Note: This feature is available only when using a
CDMA network (see page 46).
When you make an emergency call, your phone can
use Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS)
satellite signals to tell the emergency response center
your approximate location.
The AGPS feature has limitations, so always tell the
emergency response center your best knowledge of
your location. Remain on the phone for as long as the
emergency response center instructs you.
