4.4 Methanator
never be cut or shortened or bent or bypassed in any way. If there is any physical damage,
the device should be shut down until it can be replaced.
The purged/pressurized methanator must not be operated without purge/pressurization
unless it has been verified that the area is free of explosive gases and vapors. This includes
opening the door to the electronics enclosure for routine maintenance.
The screw-on cap of the explosion proof/flameproof methanator must not be removed unless
it has been verified that the area is free of explosive gases and vapors or unless the
methanator has been given sufficient time to cool down (at least 30 minutes without power).
