nent status display and highlighted on the speed-
ometer. When Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
is passive, the speed is greyed out.

On motorways or high-speed major roads, the
green ç vehicle symbol is displayed cycli-
cally when the vehicle is ready to pull away.

If you depress the accelerator pedal beyond
the setting of the Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC, the system is switched to passive

speed adjustment for the route event ahead is
less than the stored speed, the segments in the
speedometer light up. The Instrument Display
shows the deactivation of Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC, as well as alterations to the speed
due to manual or automatic adoption of the maxi-
mum permissible speed.
System limits

The system may be impaired or may not function
in the following situations,for example:
In snow, rain, fog, heavy spray, if there is glare,

in direct sunlight or in greatly varying light
conditions.
The windscreen in the area of the camera is

dirty, misted up, damaged or covered.
If the radar sensors are dirty or covered.
R
In multi-storey car parks or on roads with
R
steep uphill or downhill gradients.
If there are narrow vehicles in front, such as
R
bicycles or motorcycles.
In addition, on slippery roads, braking or acceler-
ating can cause one or several wheels to lose
traction and the vehicle could then skid.
