Step 5: Install the scanner

Unpack the scanner
Automatic document
feeder
Power supply
Scanner
Publication
package
Telephone
cable
Ethernet cable
Power supply
cord

Open the scanner boxes and then
remove all items except the
scanner and automatic document
feeder.

Make sure you have the following
items:
• Scanner
• Automatic document feeder
• Publication package with Setup
Guide, MFP CD, and a set of
Quick References (in different
languages)
• Telephone fax line cable
(RJ-11)
• Ethernet cable (RJ-45) (with
toroid)
This Ethernet cable is used to
connect the scanner with the
printer.
• Power supply
• Power supply cord (this may be
a straight or Y-cord)
• ADF thumbscrews (2)
The box may also contain an adapter for
telephone fax line cable (not shown).

Place all items except the scanner
aside for later use.
