Troubleshooting

If a problem appears, check the following trouble shooting guide first and
perform whatever action is necessary to solve the problem. If the problem
persists, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Note
This unit has been designed for use with the CTE-600. Refer to the
Operating Instructions supplied with the CTE-600, as well.
Symptom
Even if you press the power
switch of a particular CTE-600,
the designated CTE-600 does
not turned on.
Even though the Sony video
conference system (PCS series)
is turned on, the CTE-600s
are not turned on.
No sound can be heard even
though the CTE-600s are
turned on.
The sound can be heard from
only a particular CTE-600.
The sound of only a
particular CTE-600 is low
or high.
An echo is returned to a remote
party.
Cause and remedies
• The AC adaptor (supplied with the CTE-600) is disconnected
or not connected correctly.
c Connect the AC adaptor to the DC IN 6 V connector. Or
connect it correctly. (Page 8
• The CTE-A10 and CTE-600 are not connected correctly.
c Connect the cable between them securely. (Page 8
The audio cable is not connected correctly between the video
output connector of the video conference system (PCS series)
and the PCS VIDEO IN connector of the CTE-A10.
c Use the correct IN and OUT pair of the audio connecting
cable to connect both connectors. (Page 9
• The video conference system (PCS series) is not turned on.
c Turn it on. (Page 12
• The audio cable is not connected correctly between the video
output connector of the video conference system (PCS series)
and the PCS VIDEO IN connector of the CTE-A10.
c Use the correct IN and OUT pair of the audio connecting
cable to connect both connectors. (Page 9
The connecting cable (supplied with the CTE-A10) is not
connected correctly between CTE-A10s.
c Connect the TO CTE-A10 connector and the FROM CTE-
A10 connector of the CTE-A10s in the system correctly.

The SYSTEM SELECT switch on the bottom of the CTE-600
is not set correctly.
c Set the SYSTEM SELECT switches of all CTE-600s in the
cascaded connection to the PCS side.
• The distance between each CTE-600 is too close.
c Place each CTE-600 3 m or more away from the others.

• The volume of the CTE-600 is too loud.
c Use the CTE-600 with the volume set when the CTE-600 is
turned on (fixed at the center position) or lower.
• There is a large amount of echo in the room.
c Rearrange the location of the CTE-600s, referring to the
