3. With a fl at-bladed screwdriver, compress the
open end of the spring strap (one strap on each
end of the drive motor) until it releases. Remove
the spring straps.
4. Remove the drive motor from its cradle.
Note: The motor bracket is notched. When installing
the motor, be sure to align the motor correctly in the
bracket.
Blower Housing
The blower guard must be removed to access the
blower housing.
To remove the blower housing:
1.
Remove the front panel and the drum. (See

2. Disconnect the wiring from the back side of the
blower housing.

3. Remove the 2 Phillips-head screws that hold
the blower guard in place. Remove the blower
guard.
Note: The blower guard is notched. When
reinstalling the blower guard, ensure the notch is
located at the bottom of the blower wheel.

Note: In the following step, to prevent the blower
wheel from turning while removing the center nut,
apply a 7/8-in. wrench to the nut on the end of the
drive motor as shown below.
4. Remove the 13-mm center nut. (Turn clockwise
to remove.) Remove the blower wheel.
