Figure 7. Backplane Slot Pin Assignments

Figure 5 shows the customer connector pin
assignments and Figure 6 shows the network
interfaces (HDSL loops) P6 connector pin
assignments.
Pin assignments for the backplane HTU-R slots are
shown in Figure 7.
Frame Ground Connection
Attach frame ground to pin 1 of P5 (see Figure 2).
Power Connections
In applications using locally powered T400 plug-in
cards, local power can be supplied to these cards using
the barrier strip labeled P5. For applications using
only ADTRAN line-powered HTU-R cards, -48 V
connections are not required. However, the frame
connection (pin 1 of P5) must be attached to ensure
proper grounding and unit operation (see Figure 2).
CAUTION
Ensure all power connections are firmly
secured.
Customer Connections
Figure 5 gives the pin assignments and lead colors of
the four RJ-48 jacks. These connectors provide all
customer-side connections. Alternately, the signals
may be cabled directly to the terminal barrier strips.
Network Connections
Figure 6 provides the pin assignments of P6 (labeled
NETWORK INTERFACE). This 50-pin CHAMP
connector provides all network-side connections. The
