Adjusting the self-propel
For proper operation and long term transmission life it is important
that the correct adjustment procedure is followed. Under tightening
the cable will result in a lack of drive force. Over tightening the
cable will make the bail hard to pull up to the handle, could lead
to internal transmission damage, and shorten transmission life.
When the machine is boxed, the self-propel cable is adjusted loose
so the belt will not be in tension. Adjusting the self-propel is the final
step in the setup instructions in the Operator's Manual. For your
convenience we have attached a copy of these instructions.
