Selecting a Channel

To Use Direct Control

Direct control is where the host computer issues GPIB commands and the
85330A executes them immediately. For example, the
(port number) (switch address)
change switch states.
Here are examples of how to select a channel.
Example 1, for a standard system
OUTPUT 70918; "ROUT:CLOS 1,(@2);"
Switch port 1, default SCU address (0), channel 2 selected.
In this example, the BASIC
to the 85330A. The command,
70918 (the 85330A). This command string would:
Activate switch port 1.
Address the SCU (which is set at the factory to SCU address 0). Since
the default address is being used, the SCU address is not required, and is
not specified in the command.
Select channel 2.
Example 2, for a typical custom system
OUTPUT 70918; "ROUT:CLOS 2,(@110);"
Switch port 2, SCU address 1, channel 10
The command
ROUT:CLOS 2,(@110);
85330A). This command string would:
Activate switch port 2.
Address any SCU, or SCUs, at SCU address 1.
Select channel 10. "110" is the switch address and is defined as the
concatenation of the SCU address and the channel number.
