55. Install C8, the last of the 10uF electrolytic capacitors. Check again to
make sure you install the negative stripe opposite of the positive marking.
Now we have installed all of the surface mount parts. We are going to check
our handiwork with a good magnifying glass and dash of patience. We want to
inspect between the pins of the AD8307 for solder bridges, but noting that pins
6&7 are supposed to be connected together. Be very meticulous about this
stage; it will prevent many headaches later.
Now is the time to check part orientation, especially of the capacitors, diodes,
and ICs. Don't be totally disappointed if you find one has been installed
backwards; simply get them in right before applying power!
55. Install S3, the DTDP power switch. Make sure it is square and flush
before soldering so that it will properly stick out of the hole provided in the
display board.
56. Install J7, the 2.1mm power jack.
57. Install J4, one of the BNC connectors. Make sure it is flush and square
before soldering. Also solder the mounting pins for added stability.
58. Install J3, the other board mounted BNC connector.
